A SLICE OF CAKE!

Tonight, I watched Vivace’s Spring concert featuring Voce Nuevo. Vivace is basically my school’s advanced choir and Voce Nuevo is the beginning choir. These guys are really good, but I can’t help feel that I miss being in high school and seeing the guys who were in Vivace back in my day. I mean, the Vivace when I was still in school. That was the Vivace that I know and grew up with. The kids who were performed tonight were really good, though. It sucks that I only know a few of them, though. Meaning…. I’m getting old. D:

It’s been two years since I’ve graduated high school, but it feels like only yesterday. I almost cried during the concert. I remember talking to Neil earlier about it. He would be up on that stage either singing or performing, and I would be on the side with a guitar. Oh man, nostalgia boners! :”>

EARGASMS!

Since I got Spotify, I can finally listen to music conveniently and comfortably. I mean, it’s like the ultimate tool for music lovers of the digital age. Now, I’ve been listening to a buttload of awesome bands and artists easily without trying hard to look for them on the internet…. especially that I listen to music that are hard to find on the web.

Here are some albums that I’m enjoying lately (thanks to Spotify. :D)

GHOSTBIRD - ZEE AVI

I’m a huge fan of solo female vocalist who can sing very well and can play chill or whimsical music (like Regina Spektor, Priscilla Ahn, Ingrid Michaelson, etc), and Zee Avi is definitely one of those girls. Her voice is so calming, and her songs are awesome. She has some very soothing and chill songs, some really jazzy yet poppy songs, and some very catchy songs. I suggest that you listen to Concrete Wall. It gave me eargasms!

Also, props to Pammzy for introducing me to her.

HEY EVERYONE - DANANANANAYKROYD

This is like the offspring of Johnny Foreigner and The Mae Shi ‘cause they were doing it during a Death from Above concert. Okay, maybe that was a bad way to describe this band, but they’re so catchy, energetic, spontaneous, and also very awesome. It’s kinda’ poppy and punkish, but it’s really hard for me to describe this band. Well, this band described themselves as “fight pop,” so I guess that can describe this band. Violent yet nonsensically happy. Also, in a way, it’s kinda’ like this band tries to put some hardcore-ish influences, but it just comes off as indie pop and noise pop-ish. Personally, I really like Some Dresses because it shows everything the band can offer.

CINEMETROPOLIS - BLUE SCHOLARS

I’ve been waiting for a long time to listen to this album, and I finally got to hear it. Thanks, Spotify! :P

Anyway, this hip-hop duo will never cease to amaze me. Sabzi’s melodies and beats are freakin’ sick and Geo’s rhymes really flow and his lyrics cut deep. This album is prolly their most serious and deep release. I love the concept of using people as ideas, like in their song titles. (Ex: Hussein, Marion Sunshine, Tommy Chong, etc) These guys totally blew my mind with this album. I also love the whole electronic and experimental feel of the music. Sabzi totally went all out on this album. I’m a sucker for heavy synth and lead, so I definitely got eargasms from this album. It’s hard to say what song I really liked on this album, but I guess it would be Cinemetropolis with all its synth and catchiness and stuff. It’s just eargasmic!

JOHNNY FOREIGNER VS. EVERYTHING - JOHNNY FOREIGNER

This has gotta be one of my favorite bands…. ever! I mean, what’s not to like about this band? Okay, a lot of people prolly can’t appreciate this band. I mean, I almost got beaten up in my school’s painting room just for listening to them.

Anyway, I absolutely love how this band can be poppy, punkish, technical, noisy, and catchy all together. This album, though, unlike their past releases, is not that noisy and messy. It seems like these guys tried being experimental, and it’s really good. But yeah, it’s not Johnny Foreigner if it’s not noise pop. Oh well, it’s still cool. I still love this band. It’s really hard for me to pick a favorite song from this album, but I guess I can say that You vs Everything will it. It’s like high school all over. :”>

Earlier today, mumsy brought me to Ninja for lunch. For a long time, I’ve always wanted to eat at Ninja because, back then, people kept talking about how awesome Ninja is. It is a Japanese buffet. It’s pretty alright, but the food wasn’t really as great as I thought it would be. Because, c’mon, the restaurant had so much hype a long time ago. Honestly, I rather eat at Aji-Ichi, Fuji Ichiban, or Benii. But it’s alright. My mom wanted me to try it ‘cause I never have. :P

But yeah, other than that, today was awesome. Especially the night out with my cousin Mark, CJ, and Phil. It’s always an adventure when I go out with these guys. I love them…. no homo. :”>

so much meaning.

be on the look out for it……

The island is currently going through a tropical depression, and I really love how the weather is cold and stuff. It’s pretty cozy to stay indoors. :D

Right now, I’m just enjoying Spotify. It’s pretty awesome! I hope it’ll be available when I get to Philippines. I’m pretty sure it will be, though. I mean, Pandora radio doesn’t work there, so Spotify is the next best thing. Actually, I think it’s definitely the best thing when it comes to listening to music online.

Heh, currently enjoying some Answering Machine, Dananananaykroyd, Johnny Foreigner, The Mae Shi, and shizz right now during this cold weather. All I need is a cup of coffee and a book or something. :3

Lately, I’ve been bumming around. I need to get off my butt and do stuff. It kinda’ sucks that I’m on vacation and a lot of people are still in school. Well…. summer vacation is nearing for a lot of college students here, so I’m stoked. :D

Anyway, I gotta organize myself a to-do list for today. Here it goes:

  • Get a hair cut (and prolly gunna get my facial hair trimmed. I seriously look like an Asian Leonidas. :P)
  • Go to Infusion Cafe
  • Art supply shopping
  • Go to the beach
  • Take photos
  • Stop by Expressions Studio
  • Find a directory so I wouldn’t have a hard time looking for Copy Express in Tumon and Sign King…. where that is >__>
  • pew pew

If anyone happens to know where Copy Express Tumon and Sign King are located, then hit me up! :D

Heh, I gotta hit up the DMV and the post office, but I guess that can wait tomorrow or something? :))

So I have a few orders for sticker packs coming in…

but they’re off-island.

I have orders from Hawaii to Washington, D.C.

I’ve told people that I’ll be mailing them out last week, but I’ve been such a lazy pu. :< Also, I’ve been sick for a while. Actually, after a few days of being sick, I decided to visited the doctor today. Haha, I’m fine. Not gunna die….. so I have no excuse for not sending out the stickers. lol.

Anyway, since I’m taking a while, I’ll be adding these stickers out with the pack. :’> They’re limited edition, I guess. Hahaha! I didn’t make these. My mom did.

Thanks, man :B If you can’t teleport that far, let’s meet halfway! Teleporting and sharing food in the middle of the Pacific Ocean sounds fun :P

Oh my! That’s prolly one of the coolest things I’ve heard all day! Okay… I mean, read. :D Let’s do it!! >:3

;^; I want someeee!

Ohhh…. then I guess it’s not weird at all. :D

Anyway, hold on. Lemme teleport these Jurassic nuggets over there. Hopefully, my teleportation powers can reach the 808 state. If not, then I must apologize.

Is it weird that I get all happy just for having dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets and chocolate milk for lunch? :P

So a few of my good friends back in the Philippines were chatting with me… actually, I’m still chatting with Micco. Hahaha. But yeah, it made me really miss them - All of our adventures and little shenanigans and stuff.

I dunno. In a way, I don’t want to leave Guam. I know I’m only here for vacation, but Guam is basically my home. I grew up here and everything is familiar. Also, life is definitely easier and chiller here. I got almost everything I want here. :)))

But yeah, I am an art student over in the Philippines, and I gotta finish my studies. Guam doesn’t have art, so that’s one reason for me to not like Guam. Well, okay… I was one of the exhibiting artists for GAX, so Guam does have a small art scene. The thing is, it’s on its infancy stage. Unlike the Philippines, art is huge! Well, it’s underground…. but it’s still huge! HUUUUUUUUUGE! So that’s one reason for me to stay in the Philippines.

Still…. Guam is definitely home.

I dunno. I just wanted to share. :P Because I really don’t want to leave, but Philippines is great too! I got good friends there and I have art. Hmmm…

GAX IV - DNA EVOLUTION @ Tumon, Guam (May 3, 2012)

Last night was a good time for cool people, dubstep music, beer, and awesome art… of course.

It was nice to see all the creative and imaginative talents that Guam has to offer. What I noticed was that most of the artists were young artists. It’s great that Guam’s kids have potential in art. I would like to see that grow, and I want to become a part of that movement. There are definitely a lot of young artists who can go far with their talent. I’m still in the process of learning, but I do want to create a big art movement here on Guam… or at least help start it but that would just have to wait.

For the mean time, all you Guamies should visit GAX! It’ll be open until the 6th of May. :D

Day 9

On my way tho GAX earlier today, I encountered a giant cutie patootie.

Day 8

  • UOG made me feel like a real college student
  • Supposedly, my minivan is pretty homey
  • Yogurtland with the Toaster and the Mochi
  • Birthday cupcake~
  • lolwut? I dunno what happened, but I didn’t get my candy :T
  • TORTA x TOAST x MOCHI = HIGH SCHOOL SPANISH CLASS THROWBACK
  • Tacos + Quentin Tarantino = <3333333
  • SM Dept. Store on Guam is so disappointing when you compare it to the ones in the Philippines
  • Marydel came
  • She bought an eel at Tokyo
  • Today was pretty weird and a tad bit awkward >___>
